long time no speak

Once again I neglected my blog for too long. I know it is an excuse but I don't find time nor patient to sit and write. It is only when I scrap that I realize how important my blog is. Like this week, when I scrapped again and used photo's from a while ago...it was great to scroll back and read my thoughts from then. Did I mention scrappin'?

I am not sure if someone besides my sweet SIL (Hi Sharon!) still check on my blog, but anyhow, a short update since last time... back in October, as every year, we went to Israel to celebrate Sukkot holiday with my family.

After we came back, I was very busy with my first big wedding event. I worked hard and was very happy and satisfied with the result. After 15 hours of a total work out, I was finished physically. It took me almost 2 days till I again could go up & down the stairs ;) here is a glimpse at my work until I get the professional photo's of the event. I really enjoyed it and looking forward for more events.   

So now, I am back to my routine. I scrap again and I LOVE it :)

Forgiveness

is tomorrow's key word in jewish life. Tomorrow is Yom Kippur (= Day of Atonement, Grote Verzoendag) and is the highest holy day of the year. A friend of mine wrote the following quote on Facebook and I just want to share it with you today. Do more than belong: participate. Do more than care: help. Do more than believe: practice. Do more than be fair: be kind. Do more than forgive: forget.

2 days for (jewish) New Year

It scary sometimes how quickly time goes by. This weekend we will be celebrating new year and although I have a tendon infection, I am busy in the kitchen ;)

Yesterday I went to see 'My Sister's Keeper' and even though I didn't like the end - it was really good. Recommended with lots of tissue's! It makes you think what really matters in life and how important health is. It put life in the right prospectives. As New Year is wishful time and full of good and positive thoughts, let me wish us all a happy new year. May it be a year of happiness, health and wealth for everybody around the world.

with no luck

Last Sunday we thought it is about time for her to go to 2 wheels. I guess she was not ready yet. Boys did it quicker but girls are different. We don't give up and will try again tomorrow. I hope she will wear different face ;) 

here we go...an update again

Summer vacation is over and kids are back to school. I love summer vacation, specially because of its lazy mornings but I must admit, I was very happy when kids went back to school. Let's just say that routine is a good thing for everybody.

Last week of summer vacation we decided to go away for few days. It was a good thing but, as usual, it was much too short. It was fun. Can you tell? 

 

As for me, I am busy with my new little business "Nili's Design" and my first big event is coming soon up. A wedding!!! It includes a reception, a ceremony (= chuppah) and a dinner. Think flowers, fabrics, lots of white, silver, cream and gold. My head is exploding from ideas and I am loving it.

Antisemitism in Amsterdam

Last Friday My oldest son, Uriel, was attacked by a 13 years old girl in our street. She pointed at him with a water-gun and called him 'vieze jood' (dirty jew). Uriel stopped his bike and asked her if she has a problem and she answered that he is the problem. She pushed him off his bike and he fell, then she grabbed him in his throat and tried to choke him. She hit him and he fell again on his bike, then she tried to choke him again but he finally decided to push her away. Uriel didn't want to hurt her because she was a girl. In between, she called him 'kankerjood' (cancer jew). She left him with these marks:
I still can't believe it happened but unfortunately, it proves antisemitism is everywhere!!!! and it makes me sad and scared. Such a shame!
